A Section 8 Company is a type of not-for-profit organization in India, registered under the Companies Act, 2013. It is established to promote charitable objectives such as social welfare, education, healthcare, environmental protection, or any other philanthropic purpose. Unlike other companies, Section 8 Companies cannot distribute profits to members; the income must be reinvested in achieving their objectives.

The key characteristics of an NGO section 8 company are:
